saturday was the first day of this years
farmers market. i love the farmers market and wish that it was more than 3 1/2 hours on ONE day of the week. you have to get there early, otherwise, you'll miss out. while i was perusing the usual stands there seemed to be one missing, the new day bakery. a fellow local blogger who works at the new day bakery explains this much better in her blog,
edgehill house. i hope this matter is resolved soon because the new day bakery stand is a fantastic one.
some beautiful bibb lettuce
lots of rhubarb (love these guys strawberry rhubarb jelly - it is the best)
red barn farm's stand
the best local soap around (made from this adorable jersey cow's milk & local honey)
potent ramps (a wv delicacy)

easter egg & french breakfast radishes

Hey, thanks for the mention! I hope you'll see New Day at the market next week. I also hope my family gets up early enough to snag some of those gorgeous veggies, since I will be busy making bread.
ReplyDeleteLast year they had another Farmers Market at the WVU Farm on Tuesday afternoons. I haven't heard whether they're doing that this year, but it might be worth checking out.
gorgeous! there's a farmer's market at my apartment every Wednesday... i really should go. there's no excuse!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Where is this Farmer's Market located? It looks FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is funny, we just went to the farmer's market today! It looks like you have fantastic produce there- love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately no matter how many times we visit the farmer's market here in Halifax, or early/late/mid time, it's too crowded for a happy excursion. Wish we didn't have issues with crowds of people. :)
Fun blog! :)
